operate.txt started when I used Claude computer use to navigate my own SaaS. At 28% through a brand analysis, Claude asked: "Is this a loading state or is something wrong?" There was no file it could read to know. operate.txt is that file — a YAML spec at yourdomain.com/operate.txt that tells AI agents how your site actually works: loading states, irreversible actions, async flows, form dependencies.
